The small bear followed the scent of meat coming from the woods. He saw the dangling meat and looked around to see if anyone was watching. He darted for the meat and……………SMASH!!!!………..

This is called a "deadfall trap". The bear trap lures the animals towards it from the scent of the bait that is used for this trap. After the animals such as bear, lynx, beaver, muskrat, otter, mink, martin, and fishers (For each animal it is used differently) see the meat they will try to grab it and run, little do these poor animals know the meat is dangling from a string on a unstable log hanging from a tree!! So when the animal grabs the meat the log will topple onto this animal and crush it and it will die. (For the bear the mik maw will blow smoke in its nose for respect).

That's How A Deadfall trap is used!!
