The drums are made of birch bark and animal hide.

The animal hide was stretched over the birch bark. The Mik'maq stretched the animal hide over the birch bark and shaped it into a circle. There could be more than one person beating at once. They have some dances. One is called the grass dance and there is another called the fancy dance and the wedding dance.

They had fun using the drums and they use the drums today.
