The spears are like a stick that has two things that are bended so when you throw it down it goes between it. Men stand in icy stream waiting to spear salmon as they pass. When they catch the fish they slit them and hang them up in the smoke house so it gets smoked. They preserve and they put it in a woven basket which the jumping fish would fall.
