Teddy Bot Picnic

Pack Teddy's basket with goodies. What will he take on his pionic? Then help Teddy Bot find his way to the picnic grounds! Students get to create colourful props of ants, birds, leaves and flowers. They also get to add command lines to Teddy Bot's program (afterall he is a robot!) |
Students take home their props and picnic creatures.
Class receives CD* movie documenting picnic. |

Crazy Contraptions
Gr 2 & 3

Students work in pairs or individually to construct a fanciful Up, Down and Turn Around Thingy that can be used to move an object (a paper puppet) up and down and around. The units are joined together and attached to a motor control - and the crazy contraption gets all the puppets dancing and turning at once. Students learn about gears, motors and construction. |
Students take home their puppets.
Class receives CD* movie documenting the whacky contraption. |

Gadgets & Gizmos
Gr 2 & 3

Students work in pairs or individually to construct a weird gizmo that can be used to spin an flying object (a feathery bird). They construct the flying bird using feathers, beads and pipe cleaner, The gizmos are joined together and attached to a motor control - and resulting gadget causes all the birds to fly around - a wild, whacky spectacle. Students learn about gears, motors and construction. |
Students take home their birds.

Mechanical Garden
Gr 3 & 4

Students work in pairs or individually to construct a widget with moveable parts. Colourful tissue flowers, pipe cleaner insects and feathery birds are attached to the widgets which The widgets are connected to a motor control and a fantastic garden is in bloom! Students learn about gears, motors and construction. |
Students take home their flowers & insects.

Fashion Bots on Parade
Gr 4 & 5

Students work in small groups of 3 or 4 to create the most fashionable Robot. Students can add fashionable lego bricks, pom-poms, pipe cleaners, feathers and other adornments to complete the look of their groups’ Bot. They will also get a chance to program their robot to show-off its fashionable duds on the fashion promenade. And special talents - a dance anybotty? |

Alien Bots Freak Show
Gr 4 & 5

Students work in small groups of 3 or 4 to create the freakiest Robot on this planet. Students can add lego bricks, googely eyes, pipe cleaner feelers and other add-ons to complete the freaky look of their groups’ Bot. Then its show time - students will program their alien Bots to move, dance, beep or do the alien jive. |

Cirque d’Artech

Create robotic performers: Acro-Bot, Clown-Bot, Strong-Bot and Synchronized Dancing-Bots. Students will work in small groups of 2 - 4. They will learn the fundamentals of programming with Lego's Robotic Invention System. |

Using special effects design a unique T-shirt: try tesselating a design; adding lens effects like fish-eye view or making a photo collage. Students can work individually or in pairs. Design the most awesome T-shirts. They will be printed on special paper, then transferred to a T-shirt. |
Students receive T-shirt with their design printed on it - shirts are ready next day. |
