Petite Riviere Elementary School

At Petite art, technology and science are combined for this Arts Smarts Project. Students are learning how to animate and develop stories. These art based activities are tied in with a school wide science project.

The students are raising salmon from eggs in an aquarium. In the Spring the young salmon will be released into the Petite River that runs behind the school.

Alot of the art and animation activities are related to the science project

In the P-1 class the students worked in groups to create aquariums that they filled with imaginary fish. [VIEW MORE]

The Grade 2s and 3s created colourful mixed media aquariums. They also learned how to animate clay fish. [VIEW MORE]

Grade 4s experimented with animated stories, first on paper and then with clay. [VIEW MORE]

Grade 5s and 6s also experimented with stop motion animation and have begun work on claymation movies that will document the salmon raising project. [VIEW MORE]
